Shingles Vaccination

Shingles is a common condition that cause a painful and uncomfortable rash on the skin. In some cases, it can cause serious problems like long lasting pain in the body or even blindness. The vaccine reduces your chances of contracting shingles and massively reduces the symptoms if you do get it. It is recommended for those with a weak immune system and older adults.

What Can I Expect at My Appointment?

The vaccination consists of two doses that are injected in the upper arm. After these doses, you will not require any boosters in the future. You may suffer with mild symptoms after the vaccine such as a fever, fatigue, headaches and pain or redness at the injection site. These should subside within a few days.
