Hyperhidrosis

Botox or botulinum toxin can be used to reduce hyperhidrosis, a condition in which an individual sweats excessively. Your sweat glands are stimulated when you get a message from the body’s nervous system, however with hyperhidrosis, your nervous system sends too many messages. Botox works by blocking the signals from your nervous system and ultimately stops them from overproducing sweat.

What Can I Expect at My Appointment?

Treatment for hyperhidrosis is a quick procedure and most clients experience minimal pain during it. You may feel mild discomfort or a slight pinching sensation at the injection sites. It’s important that you avoid shaving and applying deodorant under the arms at least 24 hours before your treatment. Botox is not a permanent solution for hyperhidrosis but can be repeated over time to manage excessive sweating.
