What Can I Expect at My Appointment?

A Healthcare professional will ask questions such as your previous medical history, where you are staying, activities you will be doing and how long you will be staying abroad. You should get vaccinated for Hepatitis A at least 2 weeks before travelling, and the course consists of one dose in the upper arm. You may experience some side effects after your vaccination such as a high temperature, fatigue and soreness at the injection site, but these should subside within a few days. A booster injection is also available after 6-12 months of your first dose that can give you up to 25 years of protection.
